Growing Family, Growing Needs - Giving Hope

As our family doubles in size between now and December, so do the needs of the precious girls in our care. Every day, we see their determination to heal, learn, and build brighter futures for themselves. With your help, we’ve already made incredible strides — but to continue providing a stable, nurturing environment, we need your partnership and support, now more than ever.

Below are some of the specific needs we’re working to meet this season as we welcome Janeth, Lupita, and Angelica, our 3 new family members:

Investing in Health and Well-Being

Our commitment to each girl’s well-being goes far beyond providing food, clothing, and shelter. We’re facing rising medical and dental costs, as well as the need for additional educational resources and counseling sessions.

Currently, each resident receives 2 one-hour sessions per month with our private Psychotherapist, Susana. With three additional girls, we will need to expand access by six additional sessions monthly to provide the consistent emotional support our girls need. This means an increase from approximately $190 to $380 per month (plus transportation costs).

Investing in Education

Our tutor, Jessie, currently works 9 hours per week helping our current three keep up with school homework and acquire other needed learning skills. We need to increase her hours to 20 per week so that each girl receives the academic support she deserves.

We also face additional school expenses for our 3 new girls, including:

• Enrollment fees, books, and classroom supplies

• School uniforms

• Additional transportation to and from schools

• The purchase of two new laptops

• Currently, three girls share just two laptops for research and homework assignments.

• We’ve priced 2 New HP laptops at about $545 each. These new devices will ensure every girl has the computer time she needs for her assignments.

Transportation Support

Whether it’s our daily school shuttles to 3 different schools, dentist visits, therapy appointments, or after-school programs, transportation keeps things running. With more activities and appointments on the calendar, our transportation costs have also grown — but every trip helps our girls stay connected to opportunities that build their futures. Our current monthly gas and auto maintenance expenses average $750.00 per month. They certainly will not be going down with these new additions we’re taking on.

Everyday Essentials

As our household grows, the costs of utilities, food, laundry, shampoo, and personal supplies are expected to increase by at least 60-70% or more. Your support helps us keep supplies stocked and the lights on, ensuring every girl feels safe, clean, well fed, and with everything that helps them feel cared for and dignified.

Every dollar brings us closer to ensuring our girls have the tools, care, and support they need to succeed — academically, emotionally, and personally.
