Celebrating Reina on Her Birthday
Hello Friend,
Reina was not only the inspiration and namesake for Reina’s Hope; she is an integral part of this ministry. She spent virtually the first half of her life in an orphanage. So she can identify and relate to our girls as someone who has lived that same life. She is a young woman of extraordinary wisdom and deep spiritual insights, which she lovingly and continually imparts to our girls – along with equally loving correction, instruction, and discipline!
We recently celebrated Reina’s 28th Birthday. Our birthday tradition is to go around the table and speak a blessing or affirmation over the one we’re celebrating. Here are a few of the heartfelt and tearful nuggets from the many comments made to Reina by our girls:
From Miriam:
Your joy is contagious.
I thank God He put you in my life -I am always learning from you.
You’ve helped me so many times when I have fallen away from God.
Without you, I would not have fully understood God’s Love.
From Flori:
You’ve taught me how to be strong in the face of life’s difficulties - and not allow those difficulties to keep me stuck there.
You have always shown us how to value the important things in life.
From Abril:
Thank you because you have shown us so many things for life that we were not aware of.
I love you like a sister.
You have taught me how to forgive other people.
When we were still strategizing and clarifying the vision we had for this ministry, we believe we heard two clear words from the Lord. The first one: "Dream Big." The other: "You will not go it alone." At that time, we had no idea that Reina would choose to join us in this endeavor. Thank God that she has! We could not do it without her.
These testimonies of the girls we serve are only a glimpse into the tremendous talents that she possesses, the generous love that she imparts, and the wisdom and spiritual strengths that she models.
We are doubling our size in the next couple of months. We have made commitments to Janeth, Lupita, and Angelica to join us at Reina’s Hope. We are still waiting on some legal documents for Leti. [More details on each of these in upcoming communications.]
They are quite excited, and so are we, to see our family expand again. Please be in prayer with us over all of the implications this brings – adjustments for all of the girls and a BIG adjustment to our monthly budget. Your prayerful consideration of partnering with us to cover these additional costs is greatly appreciated.
