There’s a New Lawyer in Town
Friend,
About 20 years ago, on one of our annual visits to the Casa Hogar orphanage in Chiapas, we met a little girl named Reina. There were 120 other kids in that facility, but for some reason, we had a particular connection to this little one. We’ve often said that she adopted us. On one of our subsequent trips renewing that connection with her, Reina asked if we would adopt her. Legally, that would have been problematic, but we clearly adopted her into our hearts and our family.
Through various means and numerous return visits, we sustained that connection over the years. With a lot of love, encouragement, and affirmation on our part, and a whole lot of determination, discipline, and hard work by Reina, she pursued a strenuous course of study through high school and on to university. Today, we are head-over-heels celebrating her successful passing of her bar exam! There’s a new lawyer in town: Licenciada Reina Juarez Gomez “Peters”!
Most of you know that our experience with Reina became the inspiration behind this ministry. Realizing that by investing a bit of encouragement, affirmation, and opportunity into the lives of these girls, and with their own ambition, commitment, and discipline, they too could accomplish their life’s goals and aspirations. At its heart, this is why Reina’s Hope exists: providing the opportunity and means to change the course direction of young girls’ lives and to see them launch successfully and confidently equipped to positively impact the next generation.
Within the next few months, we are adopting three more young girls into this healing, mentoring, and training Reina’s Hope program. Several more are waiting for our invitation and their opportunity. We have the space in our hearts and in their house.
With our full-time Psychologist/Program Director, in-house educational tutor, private psychotherapist, school, food, medical, dental, and housing expenses, we need approximately $1900 per month for each of our girls to support all of the services and resources we provide.
Will you partner with us at whatever level you are able to help us open our doors to Janeth, Lupita, Angelica, Leti, and the several other girls we have waiting?
Until they all come HOME,
