Wow…Where has the time gone?

It's been a wild and crazy few weeks since I last wrote to you. I flew back to California earlier this month to take care of some client matters for my legal practice, get a root canal, have a medical check up and (for The Best Part) fly back here with our daughters, Audra and Riley, who came down to visit us in Chiapas for a couple of weeks.

What a treat that is for us to have them here - and for Reina to be able to spend a couple of weeks with 2 of her sisters. Rachel (living in Seattle) was just solicited for a new position and a promotion with her company so she could not join in on this trip, but she is already planning one soon.

We've managed to squeeze in a fair amount of work, along with quite a bit of fun. Audra, Rachel and Riley were all involved in horse riding lessons and horse care and training when they were in elementary school. It has benefited them (and us) quite well. Parchado and Waffles, our 2 therapy horses were definitely in need of some exercise and training. Until you've experienced it, you just don't comprehend how soothing and healing a horse can be. We are excited to see how they fit into the healing and empowering of the girls who are coming to live on the ranch. More about this in a future update.

These past weeks have certainly reinforced how important family is. From the time this vision was birthed in us it has always been about providing "family" to these girls who have been deprived of that precious experience. What a sweet pleasure this has been to have our girls here with us, enjoying this ranch, and enjoying each other.

CASITA NO. 2 UPDATE FOLLOWS. WE ARE IN THE HOME STRECTH!!
