A Great Work From Their Heart
Hello Friend,
Reina’s Hope has been gaining quite a reputation among the government officials here in Chiapas and perhaps more broadly. Since we are caring for minor girls who are legally under the protection of the State and Local agencies, we are periodically visited for inspection by those agencies. A typical site visit is usually 3 to 6 officials. They look through our records, review our protocols, interview our girls, and walk through the facilities, including the girls’ home and individual rooms. Frequently, they leave by jokingly asking if they can come here to live! But without fail, we receive the highest marks and compliments.
We received an email recently which recounted a conversation between several of the State and local officials. The legal equivalent of the U.S. Child Protective Services ("CPS") is known as the Procuraduria. They provide legal protection of minors under government care. The Procuraduria from the State level for all of Chiapas was meeting with some new local officials who were not yet familiar with Reina’s Hope. This is how he described our ministry:
God has granted us favor at each step of faith that we have risked to take along the way. He continues to bless us with His favor and covering with His grace as we continue on this journey. These same agencies frequently contact us with requests to accept additional girls. Typically, they are 14 or 15 years old, without any family support, and typically have been under government care all of their lives. They are in desperate need of the care and resources that only Reina’s Hope can provide.
Thank you for journeying with us to restore hope and provide a future for these very special girls under our care.
Until they all come home,
